Summer is for sun, sea, and sand—but safety comes first. At PADI RTO, we prioritise safety and education, ensuring every adventurer is prepared for the unexpected. Here are our top first-aid tips for managing sunburn, dehydration, and rip currents so you can enjoy your beach days responsibly. Here’s how to handle common beach risks:

Sunburn

  • Prevention: Apply SPF 30+ sunscreen, wear UV-protective clothing, and seek shade during peak UV hours.
  • First Aid: Cool the skin, use aloe vera, and stay hydrated. Avoid breaking blisters; seek medical help for severe symptoms.

Dehydration

  • Prevention: Drink water regularly and limit caffeine or alcohol.
  • First Aid: Move to shade, sip water, and monitor for severe signs like confusion—seek help if needed.

Rip Currents

  • Prevention: Swim at patrolled beaches, avoid swimming alone, and know the signs of rip currents.
  • First Aid: If caught, stay calm, signal for help, and swim parallel to escape. Alert lifeguards for others in trouble.

PADI RTO offers First Aid and CPR courses to equip you with lifesaving skills. Stay safe, and enjoy every moment at the beach!
